In 1983, the British pop band, The Police, engaged in a tour celebrating their iconic album, “Synchronicity”. Twenty-two years later, the pop band is back to relive the memories of that tour.

The DVD will be the first attempt to relive the tour aside from the first visual document of the tour called, “Synchronicity Concert”, which was taped in Atlanta back in 1983. The 2005 version of the taping will be the first time the footage will hit DVD markets.

The 2005 version of the Synchronicity concert will also feature extra and bonus features that have never been seen before.

Originally, the footage begins in a small intimate venue in Montreal, but the band wanted more footage of full concerts and large stadiums.

While the directors of the Montreal footage believed the intimate setting would show the band in raw form, like their earlier years, the band members were ambivalent towards it.

Eventually, the band, at their own expense, invested in a concert taping in Atlanta. They played the same songs as the Montreal venue, but with a bigger crowd, in a bigger venue, and a more commercial, “later years” feel for the band.

The finished product was welcomed by all band members.

“Synchronicity” was their last album together, and is considered a notable classic. The album gave way to such classics like, “Every Breath You Take”, “Wrapped Around Your Finger”, “King of Pain”, and “Synchronicity II”.

Three years later, the band attempted to regroup and re-record their song, “Don't Stand So Close to Me”, but it only gained mediocre success.

The DVD will include additional interviews, including a very rare 1984 band interview held in Melbourne. It also consists of both performances from Montreal and the Atlanta concert.

Our Thoughts

It's always nice to see band members that have had difficulties working with each other get together and agree on something for once.
