Once you start the music again, it's hard to stop. Not long ago, Duran Duran released their album, “Astronaut”, in 2004; now, the British pop-rock band Duran Duran is already anticipating on hitting the studio again for their next album.

The follow-up album is planned to be released in early summer 2006.

The third single from “Astronaut” is the song, “Nice”, which was chosen by their record label, Epic. The uplifting and simple song is very reminiscent of a traditional Duran Duran track.

The whole “Astronaut” album was welcomed warmly by Duran Duran fans, especially since it has been 20 years since their last album. “Astronaut” has their memorable electro pop feel, with a touch of the keyboard to welcome modern music.

Currently, the band is on a world tour, and is in Europe. They are slated to perform for the Rome version of the Live8 concert by Bob Geldof on July 2nd this year. Duran Duran also performed at the original Live Aid concert twenty years ago.

Although their album has barely gotten a chance to really flourish in the public, the members of Duran Duran can not help but feel excited when anticipating the next album.

Duran Duran is planning on beginning the songwriting process this summer until later this year.

While being interviewed about the 2006 album, the band expressed their interest in working with world-famous producer, Dallas Austin.

Austin is known best for his work producing major R&B & Pop hits throughout his career. Even at his young age of twenty-seven, Austin helped famous names like Boyz II Men, Michael Jackson, Madonna and TLC to excel in the music industry. Austin was able to work with Duran Duran in the “Astronauts” album, adding a different outlook to the tracks.

"I enjoyed working with Dallas Austin on a few tracks (for 'Astronaut')," Duran Duran keyboardist Nick Rhodes told Billboard. "He was super high-energy and good to have around. I'd like to work with a groove-master."

Our Thoughts

It's always nice to know that a band that was so popular back in the 1980's is still popular today. They have a winning formula, and we hope they continue to use it!
